A fragrance with a personal story: Linda Pilkington created it as a birthday gift for her husband, and within months he was being stopped in the street every day. It opens spicy and invigorating: cardamom, pink pepper, and coriander bring warm sharpness, bergamot adds citrus clarity, and juniper berries contribute a resinous, coniferous freshness. At the heart, two rare materials work together — black hemlock gives a bitter, pine-like smokiness, while oud sourced from Laotian agarwood forests adds noble woody depth. Ormonde Jayne became the first Western house to use both of these ingredients. The drydown is dry and earthy: vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, and musk. The scent of freshly cut wood in mountain air — rugged and refined at the same time.
